ASIT KUMAR MOHAPATRA

Asit Kumar Mohapatra is an ex-IRS Officer. With a robust educational background, he has completed a B.Sc. in Engineering from REC, Rourkela in 1986, followed by an M.Tech from IIT Madras in 1990. His law degree was obtained from Utkal University in 2021. He is a qualified insolvency professional and Valuer as mandated by IBBI. Over his career, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in various capacities within the Income Tax Department, ranging from Assistant Commissioner to Chief Commissioner, over the course of 33 years. Professionally, he is deeply involved with issues related to income tax, legal disputes, and fiscal policies. His extensive career includes roles such as CIT (Appeals) and CIT (ITAT), where he was responsible for adjudicating disputes between taxpayers and the government. His legal acumen is complemented by his training as an Insolvency Professional, a credential he obtained through the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India in 2023. He is also a life member of the Indian Council of Arbitration. Asit's ongoing commitment to professional development is evident in his participation in various courses. His expertise as an Insolvency Professional and Valuer highlights his expertise in handling complex issues related to industrial assets and their valuation.
