To me, being neutral is about maintaining balance which essentially covers facets such as listening to each side; coming to the most equitable decision; conveying that you have understood the problem; and most importantly, conveying how impartial you are to both sides. I believe that in all my professional endeavors in life, which vary from procuring and arguing my own cases; being attached to esteemed Senior Advocates; numerous publications throughout law school; various internships at CAM and Khaitan; mooting; client counselling sessions, I have always tried new and different ways to broaden my horizons. I firmly believe that it is the same approach that essentially mediation requires; i.e. broadening the scope for relief rather than going through the pigeon-holed approach prescribed by the rules of a certain Act.
