Being a lawyer by profession I have experienced that the art of resolving dispute through alternate dispute redressal mechanism needs some special skills such as active listening, fair participation, dynamic alternate solutions, unbiasedness and aiming at resolving the disputes between the parties. I have been actively dealing in mediations and pre-litigation mediation in Samadhan, which is the conciliation and mediation centre in Delhi High Court. I have learnt from the mediators that how these techniques of ADR not only aims at redressing and resolving the disputes but it also aims at maintaining a healthy relationship between the contesting parties.
